Volunteers Needed for One-Day Event to Help the Homeless in Contra Costa County

Volunteers are needed for Project Homeless Connect 2014, a one day event to provide assistance to people who are experiencing homelessness in Contra Costa County. Project Homeless Connect takes place annually, and routinely provides food, medical and dental care, hair cuts, pet care, shelter and other services to more than 1,000 people. The August 6 event is coordinated by Contra Costa Health Services' Behavioral Health Division, and co-sponsored this year by the City of Richmond and Chevron. PG&E Briefs County Supervisors on Tree Removal Plan

PG&E Vice President Kirk Johnson briefed the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors on the proposed Pipeline Pathway Project taking place throughout California and most recently in the Bay Area. As a result of many questions from County staff, as well as cities in the area, PG&E has been making informational presentations to various jurisdictions, including the County on April 22, 2014. This is a proposed PG&E project and County staff will be working with the utility to find mutually acceptable ways for PG&E to move the proposed project forward.
