Vision Display Terminal (VDT)
Qualifications for Program

Employees must meet the following qualifications to participate in the VDT program.

    - Permanent full-time or a permanent part-time employee of Contra Costa County;
    - Employee's job requires use of a Video Display Terminal for at least two (2) hours per day as certified by the employee's supervisor; and
    - Employee must be a represented member of an eligible Bargaining Unit as indicated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or an unrepresented employee covered by the Management Resolution.  Please click on to the links below to confirm your eligibility.

VDT Benefits
Annual (every 12 months) benefits include the following:

VDT vision exam

Single, bifocal or trifocal lenses

Select frames or materials covered under the plan allowance:
    Optional:  you may select frames or materials above the plan allowance; however, the employee is responsible for the price difference.
    Other extra charges:  blended lenses, oversized lenses, progressive multifocal lenses, edge, color and anti-reflective coatings, and solid and gradient plastic dyes.

Up to two (2) total hours of County paid time for exam and to obtain glasses.
