Surgery Requirements
- For safety purposes, animals are to be under control at all times, either on a leash or in a carrier box when they are brought to the Spay/Neuter Clinic.
- Appointments are necessary for spay or neuter surgeries. [Appointments are not necessary for vaccinations only. Our Vaccination Drop-In Clinic is open each Saturday, excluding holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Due to time constraints, we must limit the number of clients served at the Vaccination Drop-In Clinic. First come, first served for up to 80 clients.]
- All animals must have proper vaccinations before surgery, which may be given at the time of the pre-operative exam on the day of surgery. If your pet has received the vaccinations from your veterinarian, please present the certification before surgery.
- Payment for all fees is due at the time of the pre-operative exam.
- Food must be withheld for at least 12 hours before bringing your pet in for surgery. This is necessary to prevent the inhalation of vomit while under anesthesia.
- It's important that you deliver and pick up your pet at the specified times.

CCC Animal Services Department now features SUNDAY mobile dog adoptions in the dog park in front of the Martinez Shelter at 4800 Imhoff Drive! It's not news that we have too many dogs at the shelter. It IS news that you can now adopt on Sundays.
